The Success Story of The 5th International Conference on Gender and Sexuality 2022
The 5th International Conference on Gender and Sexuality 2022 was successfully held as a Virtual Conference on October 13th–14th, 2022, under the theme: “Crafting and Imagining an Alternative Vision and Future.”
This global event brought together an international community of academics, researchers, activists, scholars, practitioners, students, government officials, and diplomats to share research, exchange ideas, and explore future directions in gender and sexuality studies. The conference served as a dynamic platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge dissemination, attracting 80+ participants from 24 countries.
Gender Studies 2022 was co-hosted by the Asian-African Association for Women, Gender, and Sexuality (AAAWGS) and the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, and organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM). The event was supported by a strong network of academic partners, including Panjab University (India), Tokyo Gakugei University (Japan), University of Worcester (UK), University of the Free State (South Africa), University of the Punjab (Pakistan), Universitas Negeri Malang (Indonesia), The University of the West Indies (Trinidad and Tobago), Association for Schools of Social Work in Africa (ASSWA), Fatima Jinnah Women University (Pakistan), Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (India), University of Hyderabad (India), and Universiti Sains Malaysia.
The conference reaffirmed its commitment to fostering inclusive dialogue and advancing research that shapes a more equitable future. Through keynote speeches, interactive sessions, and collaborative discussions, Gender Studies 2022 successfully created a space for transformative ideas and global partnerships.
